Germain really know how to ham up Rarity's character. Whether it be her (initial) enthusiasm in making the dresses, her "Art of the Dress" song, and her "I'M SO PATHETIC!" rant, the writers and Tabitha St. The humor's big sticking point is Rarity herself. Heck, Opal's reactions to what we see about Twilight's and Applejack's dresses become funnier as a result. The Mane Six are, at first, pleased about the redesigned dresses, but we don't see them until the show, and they're laughably bad (though they do tie into the theme very well). The plot's kind of slow paced, but it actually works in this episode's favor because of the humor. But then comes this episode to turn things to her favor.

Like in Season 1, the flashbacks take place in 1992.It's safe to say that when the series first began, Rarity wasn't what you'd call a fan favorite by many. Despite " How The Syd Stole Christmas" being the first episode of Season 2, " Father of the Bribe" was advertised as the Season 2 premiere. This was the first season that had episodes airing on Friday's. Production began on Jand concluded on February 5, 2020. Starting with this season, the end credits plays after the last scene of the episode, Disney Channel airings have the credits play during the last scene of the episode like in season 1. Undercover to have a clip opening and whose intro is changed at the start of the second season. However, the last two before Ruth Righi's credit remain intact. The opening credits have changed in this season. Season 2 featured the first holiday-themed episode in the series. Eric Allan Kramer from former Disney Channel series, Good Luck Charlie, guest stars in the episode " Father of the Bribe". On July 17, 2019, Ian Reed Kesler confirmed that he would be directing an episode this season. On July 17, 2019, Ava Kolker announced that production of the new season was underway. The First Table read was July 17th, 2019, which was also when production began. Rumors of a second season began the day after Fan Fest when Ian made a tweet that seemed like a clue to a second season.
